Injured Soldiers in Germany
She will be introducing me to the Canadian Captain via email so we can streamline the process; she remains available to our soldiers to provide them with whatever they might need (backpacks with personal hygeine items, a T-shirt or two, etc. - these guys are shipped, literally with the clothes they are wearing & nothing else, so these are a lifesaver).
If you are interested in donating articles for these backpacks, following is a list of what they need:
Cards and Letters of Encouragement
Blankets of Hope
Phone Cards
T-Shirts (solid color, L, XL, or XXL)
Sweatpants & Sweatshirts or Jogging Suits for winter (L, XL, or XXL)
Boxerbriefs (L, XL, or XXL)
Socks
Small stuffed animals
Snacks and Goodies
For outpatients:
- Sneakers (Mens' sizes 9 - 15 and womens' sizes 6 - 9)
- FlipFlops to wear while showering (same sizes as above)

Please notify MaryAnn via email (maryann(dot)phillips(at)gmail(dot)com) so she is aware & watching for it (& let her know the contents). Include a card with your name, Email address, and short description of items sent in your packages. Without this information, she will not be able to confirm their receipt.
As well, soldiers on the mend are sitting in the hospital, bored. Books, CDs, DVDs, audio books for those not able to read due to injuries are also welcome. I'll find out from MaryAnne what bookstores are around, as gift certficates might be easier.
UPDATE: Master-Cpl. Michael Loewen is also in Germany recovering from injuries from the suicide bombing attack last week. Apologies to him for missing him in the initial post.
ALSO I mis-spelled MaryAnn (no e) so if you've copied her email address, recopy it (sorry about that MaryAnn).
UPDATE #2: It's not just Soldiers Angels that care - our American neighbors (and yes, the in-law analogy is a good one!) are also. h/t The Torch
UPDATE #3: Alan at GenX40 is finding Trevor Greene's attack to be personal.
Well-wishes in the comment section will go directly to our soldiers & their families. Don't be shy. And remember what your mother taught you: If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
