It's all Gomery's fault - Craig Oliver

In my Tylenol-induced fog last night, this particular clip bothered me. As I now have the benefit of both sleep & caffiene, I've revisited it and realize there IS something rather warped in the slant taken by Craig Oliver when discussing Justice John Gomery being deemed the Newsmaker of the Year.

Pay particular attention to Craig's remarks regarding Gomery's findings (probably not surprisingly, you won't find this in the text):
"...in underimining the credibility of the Liberal party in the Province of Quebec he really prevented the whole country getting the stability of a majority government... finally by reviving the fortunes & respect of the Bloc party... he has caused implications that may be years before we totally understand..." (emphasis mine)
WTF? Gomery is responsible for the current crisis in Quebec? Gee, and all along I thought it was the corruption of the Liberal Party as evidenced by Adscam, which was what Gomery was investigating.

Silly me.
